Damage Model
The damage model is more complex than it first appears, largely due to the game's asymmetric nature. The same attack can deal very different amounts of damage depending on whether the target is the Predator, the Fireteam, or an NPC.
For example, a Frag Grenade deals 300 splash damage β enough to instantly down even the most durable Fireteam class via friendly fire β yet it takes four consecutive blasts to push the weakest Predator (1,000 HP) into Second Wind.

Fireteam weapon damage falls off with distance. The game models this using Unreal Engine Keys and Curves, which are piecewise linear interpolations between keyframe values (similar in concept to BΓ©zier curves).
